To give an idea of what 'Support~A~Soldier' has accomplished to date;
*From personal soldier requests, we have provided numerous shatterproof sunglasses from a top manufacturer.
*From personal requests, instead of the issued ‘handheld’ GPS that had been provided, Support~A~Soldier provided a requested "wristwatch GPS" that allowed a soldier to keep his team together while having BOTH hands where they belonged…..on his weapon and not fumbling around in a daypack.
*Another soldier, SGT Chris requested a ‘vehicle mounted GPS’ that marked off the streets the team had already been down in the twisted maze of an Iraq city.
*For one team, the request was for a HumVee Panel Cover which draped over the front seat of the vehicle. On the backside of the cover are pockets to put ammo magazines, first aid gear, sunglasses, a compass, maybe even some food items... all to be a better organized.
*We have provided specialty backpacks, and a certain size of daypack
*Thigh holsters that allow both comfort and convenience
*We have purchased Headband-Headlamps so a soldier can see to fix the broken down motor of his HumVee at night instead of holding a flashlight in his mouth
*The always popular and hard to get tactical nomex fire resistant gloves.
*We have even filled a request for a thicker sleeping pad so the rocks and gravel aren’t felt as much.
